Hey there, fellow travel enthusiasts! We’re David and Kerri, a spirited couple on a mission to explore the world and share our adventures with you. We raised two wonderful kids and decided to retire early to meet our goals. While the kids are working their professional lives, they link up with us when they can.
Wondering what’s behind our unique name? Well, it’s a fusion of our Arizona roots, love for the beach, and the laid-back lifestyle – AZ + Beach + Bumz = azBeachBumz!
The closest beach to Phoenix is Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico, commonly referred to as Rocky Point or just RP. This was our home away from home until the summer of 2018 when we quit our jobs and sold our primary home in Arizona, including most of our belongings. Now we like to spend the winter months in RP and travel the world from A to Z the rest of the year, of course searching out beaches along the way.
We had a personal goal of visiting 50 countries by the time we turn 50, but 2020 put delay on that! We were able to achieve 51 by 51 instead! We have really enjoyed our time in Spain, Portugal and Italy. Really, we have liked almost everywhere we have traveled. More recently, we had a great time in Asia, including Laos and much of Thailand.
Since we achieved our last goal, we have a new open-ended goal of getting to all of the continents and maybe sailing (cruising) all seven of the seas!
To affordably accomplish this, we maximize the use of credit card points and other travel hacking skills.
